Description
The lodge, glasshouse, and garden wall located 25 metres west of The Castle are likely from the early 19th century, with the glasshouse dating to the mid-19th century. Constructed from limestone ashlar, the lodge features a Welsh slate roof and is designed in the Gothick style. It is a single-storey, L-plan building with two bays by three bays, and the glasshouse is situated in the rear re-entrant angle, attached to the south wall. The lodge includes canted oriel windows with stone mullions, stepped buttresses, and a pinnacled parapet adorned with pierced trefoils. The glasshouse has a quadrant roof that extends from the lodge parapet to the ground, featuring closely-spaced glazing bars. A low curtain wall runs south for about 45 metres, complete with battlements and spaced buttresses. The structure is included for its group value and was partly derelict at the time of the survey.
