Description

The Patrick tomb, located approximately 13 metres east of the Church of All Saints, is a Grade II listed headstone dating from around 1744. It commemorates Miles Patrick, who served as the vicar of Lanchester from 1731 to 1744. The tomb is made of pink sandstone ashlar and stands about one metre high. It features a Latin inscription within a square panel, which is framed by a tooled border and an entablature with a pulvinated frieze. The top panel is shaped and includes a central low-relief depiction of an open book.
