Description
This is a pigeon-cote located approximately 50 metres north-west of Brandon House farmhouse, likely built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of varied stone rubble with brick dressings and ashlar quoins, topped with a pantile roof featuring a stone finial. The structure is two storeys high and has a single square bay.
The north elevation features a soldier-course lintel made of headers above a boarded door in a wooden frame on the left side, and a similar lintel and frame above an empty square opening on the right side. The first floor is blank. The roof is pyramid-shaped with a ball finial resting on a square horizontal slab.
A door has been added to the rear for access to later attached buildings. Inside, the first floor has been removed, but several tiers of nest boxes can still be seen on the walls.
