Description
The Coxhoe War Memorial stands in front of the Institute, which is not listed. It features a large granite plaque shaped like a shield, decorated with strapwork scrolls and rosettes. This plaque is mounted on a coursed stone wall, making the entire structure approximately 2 meters tall. The plaque is inscribed with the words "COXHOE AND DISTRICT WAR MEMORIAL/ SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1919/ (NAMES)/ IN MEMORY, THEY STILL LIVE." Below the plaque, there is a rectangular panel affixed to the base of the supporting wall that reads "KILLED IN ACTION 1939-45/ (NAMES)."
