Description
Nos. 1 and 2 North Bailey are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick with a painted ashlar plinth and ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring brick chimneys. The buildings stand three storeys high and have six bays. The first and third bays contain many-panelled doors that are recessed in panelled reveals. The doorcase features a Greek fret pattern with battered pilasters, and there is a patterned overlight above the door of No. 1 on the left. Wedge stone lintels are present above the sash windows, with the right lintel inscribed "QUEEN'S COURT." The ground floor has late 19th-century sashes with a sill band, while the upper floors have sashes with glazing bars and projecting stone sills, with the top windows being smaller. Ashlar eaves bands and a gutter cornice are also present, along with end chimneys.
