Description
A pair of houses with an attached yard wall, dating from around 1840. The houses are constructed of rubble stone with ashlar detailing at the plinth, quoins, and dressings, and have roofs covered in graduated purple slate with stone gable copings, a ridge, and chimneys. They are built in a Tudor style. The houses are two storeys and have a symmetrical two-window arrangement. Stone steps lead to doors set in chamfered surrounds; the door at Number 60 has an original pointed head with boarded panels and a plain overlight, while the door at Number 62 is a replacement. Full-height square bay windows with stone mullions, two lights to the front, and plain sashes rise through the eaves under steep gables. All windows are deeply recessed and chamfered. The steeply pitched roof has gable copings rising to square end chimneys with cornices, and a transverse central chimney also corniced. The left return side has a long stair window positioned to the right of centre with plain glazing, and paired lights on each floor towards the rear, with lattice glazing bars. The interior was not inspected. A yard wall, approximately 2 metres high, made of rubble with dressed stone coping, runs back from the left gable and contains a boarded door.
