Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on Galgate in Barnard Castle. The building is constructed of roughly coursed and squared sandstone with ashlar dressings. It has a Welsh slate roof with a stone ridge and a stone and render chimney. The house is two storeys high with a two-window front. It features plain stone surrounds to a central four-panel door and renewed four-pane sash windows. A low-pitched roof is punctuated by a ridge stone chimney on the right end, which is raised and rendered. The right gable has renewed coping that incorporates part of the former No.76, with the remainder now rebuilt. The interior has not been inspected.
