Description

No. 74 and 75 Gilesgate is a pair of houses built in the late 18th century. They feature incised stucco with painted ashlar dressings and have a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. Each house is two storeys high and consists of two bays. There is a step up to the four-panelled doors, which have overlights and are paired at the centre. The doors are topped with wedge stone lintels and have projecting stone sills beneath the sashes with glazing bars on the left side. The bays above the doors are blank, while the right side has a two-storey canted bay with renewed sashes. The roof is steeply pitched and has chimneys at both ends.
