Description

The monument located on Adam Hill, south-east of Barningham Park, dates from the late 19th century. It is made of polished Shap granite set on a sandstone base. The structure features a tapering pyramid-topped obelisk that stands on a double stepped plinth and square base, reaching an overall height of 2.5 metres. The four faces of the plinth bear inscriptions commemorating Lady Augusta Milbank (1797-1874), Mark Milbank (1795-1881), Mark W. Vane Milbank (1819-1883), and Mary Milbank (1848-1892).
