Description
The structure is a wall behind St John's College, extending from Nos. 1 to 11 consecutively, with a garden house attached behind No. 11. The wall dates from the 12th century, while the garden house was built in the early 18th century. It features a coursed squared sandstone wall and a brick garden house with a pantiled roof. The long stretch of the wall includes two chamfered set-backs. There is a square tower behind No. 5 with a corbelled-out parapet, and a half-octagonal tower behind Nos. 9 and 10, which also has two chamfered courses. The garden house at No. 11 has a renewed window on the east side and a sash window with broad glazing bars on the west wall facing the house. It has a pyramidal roof and a small outbuilding, likely a former privy, attached on the north side.
