Description
Fox Hall is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with a rear wing added in the 19th century. It is constructed of squared rubble stone with ashlar detailing. The main block has a slate roof, while the rear wing has a stone-flagged roof. The building features stone chimney stacks.
The main block is a three-storey, three-bay structure with flush quoins. The central bay features a partly-glazed four-panel door within a projecting surround, sheltered by a sloping stone hood. Flanking the door are late 20th-century paired twelve-pane sashes, also in projecting surrounds. The bay above the door is blank, with twelve-pane sashes in projecting surrounds to the first floor and smaller six-pane sashes in flush surrounds beneath the eaves. The roof is steeply pitched and includes end stacks with top ledges and octagonal chimney-pots; the right-hand stack also has a water table.
The two-storey rear wing has two four-pane sashes with flush lintels and projecting sills to the ground floor and one similar sash above. It has a low-pitched roof and a tall central ridge stack with a top ledge and water table. A single-storey wing, attached to the rear wing, is not of particular architectural interest.
