Description
Lodge Well, located approximately 100 metres south of The Lodge, is a well dating from the early 19th century. It features sandstone rubble walls, ashlar steps and piers, and wrought iron railings with a grid. The well is enclosed by a low rectangular wall with mortared oblique coping and has a blocked entrance on the east side topped with round stone coping. Two tapered piers, about 2.5 metres from the well, are connected by plain iron rails on posts, which have holes for railings on the outer edge. Inside the enclosure, four side steps lead down to the water, and an iron grid rests on top of the walls.
