Description

Ivy Cottage is a house built around 1830. It features painted coursed rubble with quoins and ashlar dressings, and has a roof made of stone slates with stone gable copings. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a central door that is sheltered by a pointed hood, with plain sash windows on either side, all set in painted surrounds. The low-pitched roof has gable copings that rest on moulded kneelers, and there are small stone chimneys at each end. Ivy Cottage is located next to the former Wesleyan Chapel, which is now known as Nos 5-8 West View, and it is possible that this house was once part of the chapel's property.
