Description

This chest tomb, dating from 1790, is dedicated to William Thompson and is located 8 metres west of the Church of St. Giles. It is constructed from sandstone and features a horizontal slab with a rounded edge, supported by fluted corner piers. The side panels between the piers are moulded and adorned with a key-fret border. The south panel bears an inscription that reads:

"Weep not for me, my course is done, Death has eclipsed my morning sun, My soul triumphs in (illegible), Of joy and everlasting days."
