Description
This barn, located approximately 50 metres north of Elemore Hall, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick, primarily in a 7 and 1 pattern, with sandstone ashlar quoins. The returns and rear are made of magnesian limestone rubble, and it features a Welsh slate roof. The barn has an L-plan layout with one high storey comprising 7 bays, and a low one-storey, one-bay section that projects forward to the right, including 2 bays in the return and a small pent extension.
The front displays 5 high semicircular arches supported by square piers, with two rows of rubbed brick voussoirs and chamfered quoins. The hipped roof includes louvred top gablet vents on the returns. The front extension features 2 lower arches beneath the hipped roof, with a similar arch found in the pent addition.
