Description

Putney Bridge, located in Wandsworth, was built in 1884 by Sir Joseph Bazalgette and is modeled on Rennie's London Bridge. The bridge features a rusticated granite face with four cutwaters that add buttresses. It has five spans with false voussoirs and a stepped extrados. The design includes a bold cornice and a plain parapet. On the parapets, there are iron lamp standards with a foliate base and three foliate branches, although the lamps have been replaced. The northern half of the bridge is situated in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
