Description
Brynglas Gardens is a cottage orné, likely dating to the 18th century. The building is constructed of rendered stone with raised rockfaced lias quoins and window surrounds, topped by a Welsh slate roof with terracotta ridges radiating from a central brick stack. It features full dormers with terracotta finials. Originally designed with a cruciform plan, the building’s elevations and window heights are not uniform, and there are single-storey extensions. The north and south elevations have windows arranged over two storeys; on the south elevation, a ground floor window within a shallow projecting bay is blind, forming a niche. Windows are latticed iron casements with gothick glazing bars and diamond quarries within pointed arches. The interior is reported to have been completely remodelled after a period of dereliction.
