Description
Raglan Post Office is an early 19th-century house that features a later 20th-century shop front. The building is constructed of painted stucco and has a hipped slate roof with curved brackets at the flat eaves. There are 20th-century pink brick end stacks on both sides of the double-pile plan. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range of 12-pane hornless sash windows on the front. The left two bays on the ground floor have been replaced by the shop front.
At the rear, the range is slightly shorter, with the recessed west end showcasing the original arched main doorway. This doorway features reeded jambs and arch, panelled reveals and soffit, a traceried fanlight, and a four-panel door with raised and fielded panels. Above the doorway, there is a renewed 16-pane sash window, and to the left, a small 20th-century window. The rear also has a three-window range of renewed 16-pane sashes, with a central 16-pane sash and outer tripartite sashes consisting of 4-12-4 panes.
The building has been altered for conversion, with the ground floor front now serving as a single retail unit.
