Description
Dan-y-mur is a building constructed from roughly squared, locally sourced red sandstone rubble, topped with stone slate roofs. It is designed in a plain 17th century Arts-and-Crafts style. The structure is a single storey and attic, with a two-storey L-shaped plan that includes a small service wing at both the front and rear.
The visible elevation faces the main road and features its gable end prominently. To the left, there is a single storey weatherboarded L-shaped wing that contains two small paned casements with two lights each; this wing also houses the WC and coal store. The main house's gable end has one window on each floor, both with drips above, and a chimney stack located above the gable. To the right, there is another single storey wing with a small window. The other elevations are not visible from the road, but they are expected to have two and three-light windows, a plank door, and dormers similar to other estate houses, along with a small chimney on the far gable. The rear elevation has not been seen.
The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
