Description

Oak Cottage is an early 19th century dwelling, as indicated on the 1843 Tithe Map. It is an almost symmetrical, two-storey cottage with two windows, constructed from painted rubble and topped with a slate roof. The cottage features stone end chimney stacks and has two-light windows set in camber-headed openings, which are adorned with Gothick small-pane glazing. There is a modern timber door that was previously sheltered by a gabled porch. The gable ends are blind, and there is a modern extension at the rear. This cottage is noted for its prominent location.
