Description
Barn Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No 89, was built between 1809 and 1812 as part of the section of the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal engineered by William Crosley. This rubble canal bridge is notable for its unusual uncoursed stonework and spans the canal and tow-path to the east. It features a segmental arch with a keystone, and the parapet curves around at the downhill end. The bridge is recognized for its special interest as one of the few surviving early 19th-century bridges of the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal.
