Description
36 St. Mary's Street is a two-storey and attic building, probably dating from the 18th century, with a double depth plan. The exterior is rendered and painted, likely over brick, and has a tiled roof with a rendered stack. It features two windows on each floor. The ground floor of the adjoining property at No. 34 has a six-panel door, with four glazed panels, within panelled reveals, a pedimented hood, and brackets. To the right of the door is a tripartite sash window with a four-over-four pane arrangement, flanked by two-over-two panes. No. 36 has a six-panel door in a plain opening and a 20th-century three-light mullion-and-transom window to the left. The first floor of No. 34 has two plate glass sashes, while No. 36 has six-over-six pane sash windows, all with stone cills. The steeply pitched roof is hipped to the right and includes two flat-topped dormers with two-over-two casements and a central ridge stack. The rear elevation displays a gabled dormer to each house. The interior was not inspected during a recent survey.
