Description
34 and 36 St. Mary's Street are a pair of buildings dating probably to the 18th century, likely built with a double-depth plan. They are two storeys and attics in height, each with two windows. The front facade is rendered and painted, likely over brick, and has a tiled roof with a rendered stack. Number 34 has a 6-panel door with four glazed panels in recessed reveals, a pedimented hood, and brackets to the left. To the right of the door is a tripartite sash window with 4 over 4 panes, flanked by smaller windows with 2 over 2 panes. Number 36 has a 6-panel door in a plain opening and a 20th-century 3-light mullion-and-transom window to the left. The first floor of Number 34 has plate glass sash windows, while Number 36 has sashes with 6 over 6 panes, all with stone sills. The steeply pitched roof is hipped to the right and features two flat-topped dormers with 2 + 2 casement windows, and a central ridge stack. The rear elevation has a gabled dormer on each house. The interior was not inspected during a recent survey.
