Description

The obelisk to Marie Witherington, located in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter, is a neo-classical monument made from Forest of Dean sandstone ashlar. It features a square base with a plinth and cornice that supports a sharply tapering obelisk, which has a blunted point. Each of the four sides of the base is inscribed within framed panels, dedicated to Marie, the wife of Henry Witherington, who died in 1807.
