Description
The barn at Church Farm is a 19th-century structure made from local sandstone rubble, which is entirely whitewashed. It features a steel corrugated sheet roof, except for the forward projecting wing that has a stone slab roof. The barn has large central cart doors, with the front doors having a gabled entry and the rear doors featuring a canopy. There is also a canopy along the right end of the front. On the left side, there is a small, low one and a half storey extension that includes a door to the gable hayloft above an open cart shed.
Inside, the barn has a seven bay roof supported by six triangular trusses with collars and ties, along with three tiers of purlins, a ridge piece, and secondary rafters, all of which are intact. The principals are halved and pegged at the apex. The threshing floor is paved with stone, and an oak tallet remains above the cowshed at the lower end.
