Description
Glan nant-y-llan is a distinctive building known for its Picturesque Gothic window design. It is a symmetrical two-storey structure with a three-window facade made of stucco, topped with a slate roof that features coved eaves and rendered end chimneys. The front has pointed-arched timber windows with intersecting glazing bars, some of which include leaded glass and cast-iron opening central casements. The central entrance boasts a six-panel door with a Gothic fanlight and a hipped roof porch that is trellised at the front. The rear of the building has similar windows, although the central window is lower, and the flanking windows cut through the coved cornice. The building has twin-gabled ends on the east and west sides, along with a modern extension to the southeast and skylights at the rear.
The interior features a double-pile plan with a central entrance corridor. Regency style details include fluted pilasters with bosses in the left-hand room's alcoves and at the staircase arch; notably, these stop at the imposts of the arches rather than extending as full architraves. There are six-panel doors throughout. A well-crafted winding Regency staircase at the rear includes a scrolled newel, a swept handrail, and timber balusters. Additionally, there is a cellar located at the front left of the building.
