Description
Llanfoist Wharf Boathouse is a long, two-storey building located by the canal, built from local rubble and topped with a hipped slate roof. The ground floor is open and features stone piers with square openings above. The north bay of the building is enclosed and may have originally served as a stable. Stone sleeper blocks on the main floor indicate that a tramroad once ran through the center of the building, extending from the south to the enclosed northern bay, with a siding passing through the middle pair of piers. The Boathouse has been recently modernised, particularly on the first floor. In front, the wharf curves around to the south, leading to a slipway near the former tramroad line.
