Description
3 Monk Street is a three-storey building with a stucco front that has been painted, topped with a Welsh slate roof that extends west behind the belfry tower of the adjacent chapel. The facade features four windows, all of which are flush framed sashes; the first and second floors have 6 over 6 panes, while the smaller windows on the second floor have 3 over 6 panes. The ground floor bay window, noted during a resurvey in 1974, has been replaced with another sash window. There is a round-headed panelled door with a projecting porch supported by two slim columns in the second bay. The building has a modillion eaves cornice and a low-pitched roof with a red brick stack positioned behind the ridge to the right. The rear elevation is only two storeys high and has a much steeper roof pitch. The interior has been extensively altered in the early and late 20th century, and no original features are visible.
