Description
St. Mary's Presbytery is a three-storey double depth terrace building constructed of brick, with Nos. 26 and 32 featuring pebble-dash finishes, while Nos. 28 and 30 are rendered and painted. The building has a Welsh slate roof. It includes six over six pane sash windows that have keystones and voussoirs, except for No. 28. At the time of listing in 1974, No. 30 had a ground floor shopfront, which has since been replaced by two windows. No. 32 is roughcast and has a modern porch. The six-panel doors of Nos. 26, 28, and 30 are topped with fan transoms and flat hoods supported on brackets, while No. 32 features a modern canted hood. The M-roof runs parallel to the street, and the front slope appears to have been altered, raising the height of the front wall. There is a stack located between Nos. 26 and 28, as well as on the outside walls of Nos. 30 and 32. The rear elevation displays sash windows with six over six panes for No. 26, a large late 20th-century dormer for No. 28, and gabled late 20th-century rear wings for Nos. 30 and 32. The interior was not seen during the resurvey, but it is known to contain simple late-Georgian detailing.
