Description
The barn at Pen-y-clawdd Farm is a structure made of red brick and timber, resting on a stone base and topped with a clay pantile roof. It features double full-height doors on the left, which are adjacent to a lean-to with a roof that extends down over it. To the right, there is a long brick wall built on a rubble plinth; this wall has been rebuilt with blockwork behind and includes four upper square openings. Above this wall, there is timber framing covered with weatherboarding, and the end walls are made of red brick. The north wall has three loop openings above a ground floor door, window, and door, while the south end wall has five loop openings.
Inside, the barn has a six-bay double purlin roof supported by five upper cruck trusses, complete with tie-beams and collars. There is a loft floor that aligns with the level of the external brickwork.
