Description
No. 1 Henry Burton Court is part of a group of six houses located on Glendower Street. The building is constructed from coursed red sandstone rubble with Bath stone dressings and features tiled roofs. It is a single-storey structure arranged in an L-shape around a central archway. The large elliptical dressed arch is topped by a gable and flanked by square towers that have round-headed foot passages, each topped with an octagonal lantern and a spire with a bell-cast.
Entrances are located on the north side, sheltered by pent porches supported by timber. The windows have been replaced with casement styles. The main south elevation features a three-light mullion-and-transom window in a gable for each house, with a recessed doorway situated between them. There is also a small window in the gable end. The roofs are steeply pitched and include brick stacks. The interior has not been seen during the resurvey.
