Description

New Bridge is a road bridge made of thin coursed red sandstone, featuring heavier stonework in the rebuilt parapets. It has three elliptical arches, with the central arch being both wider and higher than the others. The bridge includes large, sharply angled cutwaters that have triple setbacks leading up to pedestrian refuges. The parapet is flush and plain, made of squared rubble stone with a concrete coping. This parapet extends approximately 28 meters to the east, curving slightly to the north. The carriageway of the bridge, which appears to have never been widened, is only about 3.2 meters wide. The eastern half of the bridge is listed in Llantrisant Fawr Community.
