Description

Pont Newynydd is an early 19th century single arch bridge spanning the Afon Lwyd. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble and features an elliptical arch made with small voussoirs. An iron water pipe is attached to the upstream face of the bridge. The deck and parapets have been rebuilt, with the line of the earlier parapets still clearly visible. In recent years, the bridge has been paved with concrete paviours. Currently, it is bypassed and serves only as a footbridge.
