The beast shelter at Ty-gwyn is a small building from the early 19th century, located in an open field and positioned end on to the slope. It is constructed from white-washed limestone rubble and has a corrugated metal roof. The shelter has a rectangular single cell plan, featuring a wide central doorway on the south wall that has a stilted arch head. The gable ends include ventilators, while the rear wall is blind. The interior was not accessible for inspection during the resurvey in October 1996.
