Description
The Reception (Fitting Shops) is a pair of single-storey, rectangular buildings constructed in snecked stone. The west building has four bays and is slightly shorter than the east building, which has five bays. Both buildings feature a plinth running along their base. The main gable of the earlier east building includes a central tramway door, flanked by tall sash windows, with an additional window above. The return elevation to the east has five bays; the fourth bay contains a doorway, while the others have sash windows. These openings are formed with segmental stone arches and stone sills, with a metal ventilation grill below each. The rear gable has a single large window with a segmental arch and brick dressing. The pitched slate roof has a tiled ridge and wooden brackets in the verges.
The later west building is similar in style, with its main gable featuring only one window. The rear gable has a tramway door with brick dressings and a window above. The roof is supported by steel joist trusses. The interior is fitted out as a gift shop.
