Description
3 Garden Suburbs is an asymmetrical group of six cottages, built in the 20th century. Number 1 is stepped up, while numbers 9 and 11 are stepped down to accommodate the slope of the site. The cottages are pebbledashed with some tile dressings and feature a tiled roof with swept eaves and three ridge stacks, with the central stack reduced in size. They are two storeys high.
Numbers 1 and 7 have wide, full-height gables with four-light cambered-arched windows that have brick sills on each floor. Number 1 has a gabled porch with decorative tile kneelers and a side entrance that matches the entrance to number 11 at the opposite end. Numbers 3 and 5, as well as 9 and 11, feature paired lower gables, with similar three-light windows on the first floor and four-light windows on the ground floor of numbers 9 and 11. Numbers 3 and 5 have splayed bays under tiled roofs, while numbers 3 and 9 have hoods over their doorways, and numbers 5 and 7 have porches. Some original leaded casement glazing has been retained, although there is no leaded glazing present.
