Description
11 Garden Suburbs is an asymmetrical group of six cottages built in the 20th century. Number 1 is stepped up, while numbers 9 and 11 are stepped down to accommodate the slope of the land. The cottages are pebbledashed with some tile dressings and feature a tiled roof with swept eaves and three ridge stacks, with the center stack being reduced in size. They are two storeys high.
Numbers 1 and 7 have wide full-height gables that include four-light cambered-arched windows with brick sills on each floor. There is a gabled porch with decorative tile kneelers and a side entrance to number 1, which matches the entrance at number 11 at the opposite end. Numbers 3 and 5, as well as 9 and 11, have paired lower gables. They feature similar three-light windows on the first floor and four-light windows on the ground floor of numbers 9 and 11. Numbers 3 and 5 have splayed bays under tiled roofs, with hoods over the doorways of numbers 3 and 9, and porches on numbers 5 and 7. Some original leaded casement glazing has been retained.
