Description

The Canal Bridge over the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal at Darren Road is a bridge constructed from rubble, designed to accommodate the steep slope of the area. It features a segmental arch made of thin voussoirs and has a low parapet with flat coping. The abutments curve outward and terminate in square piers. There are two lozenge-shaped cast iron weight restriction notices attached to the bridge. A former towpath used to pass under the bridge on the south side, where a stone kerb is present. The canal is now blocked immediately to the east of the bridge.
