Description
The Cwm Coke Works Northern Cooling Tower is an oblong structure measuring approximately 12 meters long and tapering slightly to a flat open top that reaches about 15 meters in height. The walls are constructed from vertically placed timber planks, which are supported by horizontal and diagonal members attached to an exterior frame made of vertical wooden posts. The base features spaced slats that allow for ventilation into the tower. A steam pipe enters the tower on the west face, with the draft from below causing the steam to condense.
