Description
The south cooling tower at Cwm Coke Works is a square structure measuring approximately 6 by 6 meters and stands about 15 meters high, tapering slightly towards the top, which is flat and open. The walls are made of vertically placed timber planks, supported by horizontal and diagonal members that are attached to an exterior frame of vertical wooden posts. The base features spaced slats that allow for ventilation into the tower, facilitating the condensation of steam.
