Description
This is a cast iron railway footbridge made by D Evans of the Eagle Foundry in Llandaff. It features two flights of parallel steps with curved balusters and newel posts topped with bud finials. The central span is at right angles and has a curved lattice parapet to accommodate the return flights. The two landings are supported by four sturdy columns with shallow capitals and fluted plinths, which rest on a raised concrete base. The risers have a zigzag pattern, and each staircase has been extended downwards by five additional steps.
