Description

The New Market Tavern is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early to mid 19th century. It has three storeys and four bays, with a stuccoed exterior and a slate gabled roof. The upper floors feature sash windows with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are five windows with pointed heads and small panes, with a doorway on either side. At the north-west end, there is a round-headed arch leading to a passage. The building is listed due to its elevation facing Trinity Street, although the interior has been modernised.
