Description

This is a cast iron milepost with a triangular cross-section, standing on a short square base. The two faces at 45 degrees feature round-arched tops and have lettering in relief. The left face reads 'Cardiff 2', while the right face reads 'Merthyr 22'. The faces are splayed at the base, and a triangle facing forward displays 'Caerphilly 5'. The square base includes a recessed panel at the front, which may have originally contained an inscription.
