Description
This is a later 19th-century four-storey warehouse located at the corner of Lloyd George Avenue and Herbert Street. It features a steeply pitched hipped slate roof and is constructed from snecked brown stone on a battered plinth, with red brick string courses. The building has rounded corners except on the northeast side. A parapet made of pale cream limestone with a shallow cornice and arcading at the eaves level does not continue on the north side and has been rebuilt in brick on the south side.
The warehouse has four storeys and five bays on the south side, with a central bay that serves as a full-height loading bay. The windows, which have four-centred arches, are now largely blocked. There are red brick string courses at sill level, but the longer windows to the left on the ground and first floors extend below this string course. The west side has five bays in a similar style.
On the north side, there are three windows on the second and third floors, two on the ground and first floors, along with some inserted square-headed windows. The basement features low square-headed windows. On the east side, there are two closely grouped windows on each floor. An extension made of stone and red brick connects this warehouse with an adjacent one, partially obscuring the elevation.
Inside, the structure is supported by cast iron columns and I-beams, with wooden floors laid on top.
