Description
The former lodge and screen walls flanking the driveway entrance to Sully Hospital is a distinctive square structure made of colourwashed concrete, dating from the 20th century. It features a steep pyramidal slate roof topped by a central chimney stack. The building has wide eaves and twin box dormers with horizontal glazing on the outer side, along with a single dormer on the driveway side that is linked vertically by a brickwork panel to a boarded door. There are small single-light metal frame windows on each side.
Attached to the driveway side is a rendered screen wall that includes a pedestrian entrance and gate. The screen wall is complemented by twin brick piers with plain cappings, which support modern lamps. The eastern pier ends in a painted screen wall that curves forward, culminating in a flat-roofed shelter supported by rubble piers.
