Description
The dovecote at Cadoxton Court is a domed circular stone structure, approximately 8 meters high with an internal diameter of about 5 meters. Its walls are buttressed and measure 1.1 meters thick, rising to 4.6 meters at the point where the corbelled dome roof begins. The roof features a circular opening that is roughly 60 centimeters across. On the eastern side, there is a small doorway with a pointed head. Inside, the walls are lined with the remains of nesting holes that are about 15 centimeters square and 45 centimeters deep. Originally, the dovecote had 700 nesting holes, providing capacity for 1,400 pigeons.
