Description

The West Wing of Llansannor Court, also known as Court Cottage, is a house built of rendered stone with Welsh slate roofs, primarily two storeys high. The south elevation features a two-storey section that adjoins the main gable of the west wing of Llansannor Court, which includes a 4-light window on the lower level and a 3-light window above. Although these windows are of 17th century design, the wing appears to be a Victorian addition, with the roof not visible. Behind this section is the early 17th century kitchen wing, which has two casement windows on each floor, a steeply pitched roof, and a large stack on the left gable. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) notes that while the existing windows and doorways are modern, they likely indicate original openings, except for a recently inserted window at the west end of the southeast wall. The rear elevation features a gable end with a stack and various other buildings surrounding the service court.

The interior has not been inspected during the recent survey, but it includes the 17th century kitchen of Llansannor Court and several service rooms. It may also contain a room from the late medieval wing. According to the RCAHMW, the kitchen wing on the southwest is ceiled in three bays with broadly chamfered beams that have straight-cut stops. The southwest gable end features a deep fireplace with renewed jambs and a wooden bressumer, along with a large rounded brick-lined oven that has modern facing. Additionally, the recess at the south end, which may have been the site of a newel stair, has been converted into a passage leading to a modern addition against the gable end.
