Description

49 Eastgate is a two-storey house featuring three windows, designed in the Northern Renaissance style. It is constructed of grey stone with bathstone dressings and has a slate roof topped with a red tile ridge. The house has end chimneys made of matching stone.

The central doorway is framed by a bathstone doorcase with a swan-neck pediment that encloses a bust, and it features double-leaf panelled doors. On either side of the doorway, there are single-storey splayed bay windows supported by corner shafts with floral capitals and topped with pierced parapets. On the first floor, a central single arched window is flanked by Venetian windows, above which are Dutch gables adorned with relief panels.
