Description
The Upper Clydach Aqueduct and Overflow on the Swansea Canal is a canal aqueduct that spans a river. It features a rubble stone segmental arch with voussoirs, measuring approximately 7.5 meters in span and about 1.7 meters in height. On the northwest side, there are two overflows. The parapet is made of squared stone with copper-slag copings on the southeast side, which retains flanking buttresses. However, the northern half of the face has been patched with blue and red bricks and cement blocks. There is a 20th-century railing separating the footpath from the canal. The northwest side has been partly encroached by later bank revetment walls and includes brick patching, but it still retains a two-bay overflow chamber that is in working order, complete with stop planks and an added footbridge above.
