Description

Pont ar Dawe is a road bridge constructed from rubble stone, featuring a broad single arch that spans 26 meters. The arch is supported by thin stone voussoirs, with additional thin stones used for the original spandrels and crown on the south side. The abutments on either side of the bridge have battered faces. In the later 19th century, the bridge was widened using rock-faced squared sandstone and cut stone voussoirs. The parapets on both sides were also added in the later 19th century and include rock-faced chamfered coping stones with tooled edges. At the ends of the parapets, there are raised piers topped with ridge-back copings.
